I know what it feels like to have to fight for your health.
Because before I was a doctor, I was the patient.
At age 20, I underwent open-heart surgery.
I was a sick teenager — struggling with autoimmune disease, severe food allergies, and medications that were quietly making my heart condition worse. To the outside world, I looked almost normal. But inside, my biology was failing. The doctors I saw were dismissive. They looked at my labs, told me everything was fine, and sent me home.
It wasn't until I found a functional health doctor — Dr. Bandy — that someone finally showed me a path to truly heal.
That experience is the reason I became a doctor.
Driven by my own recovery, I threw myself into the science of human biology. As a pre-med undergraduate, I became the youngest student at my university to publish in endocrinology. I published three times in juried journals, ran my own research budget, and spent three years working in the hospital pathology lab — learning exactly how the body breaks down, and exactly how to build it back up.
"I suffered a heart attack after COVID. I used the same protocols I now recommend. Today, in my 60s, I am on zero medications."
I don't just recommend these protocols — I live them.

Medicine that works with your biology, not against it.
Most doctors are good people stuck in a bad system. They are constrained by a model that prioritizes managing symptoms over restoring function. My clinic was built to be the exact opposite: a place where we support normal biology to help avoid drastic medical consequences. Real healthcare must be based on genuine biology and physiology — rooted in real chemistry that seeks to restore balance, not just suppress symptoms.
Currently building a boat with my son — a project measured in years, not months. The time together is the real goal.
Raised in Pretoria, SA, by a mother who was a dental professor and a pioneer for women's education in her country.
Time with my adult children and deep personal connections are the foundation of a healthy life — not a reward for hard work.
"Ten years ago, she was on the brink of cardiac failure. Last week, she celebrated her 40th wedding anniversary. Knowing she is still here is why I do this work."
